Each birdhouse is meticulously handmade in our studio using the slip-cast method with premium ceramic slip. The process ensures a high-quality bisque piece:
Casting & Drying: Poured into a ceramic mold, then carefully dried and removed as greenware.
Meticulous Cleaning: While the clay is still soft, it's thoroughly cleaned.
Kiln Firing: Fired in the kiln to create durable bisque.
Final Prep: Once fired, it's cleaned once more and packed securely in many protective layers, ready for its journey to you!
You can easily finish this beautiful birdhouse using any acrylic paint you find at your local craft store. For extra durability and protection, especially if displaying outdoors, simply seal your finished acrylic paint with a clear varnish spray (also available at craft stores). Alternatively, if you have access to a kiln, you can glaze the piece and have it re-fired for a lasting, glossy finish.
